Snow-Pea Salad with Sweet Pea Flowers
There are many edible flowers that people are afraid to try. This recipe adds a simple flower to an even simpler meal, salad.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces fresh snow peas in pods
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon tamari
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 8 sweet pea flowers
Pull the strings from the pea-pods. Steam the peas in a steamer basket until they turn bright green, approximately 1 minute. Immediately place the peas into a bowl of ice water or rinse them under very cold water until they are cool. Dry the peas.
Combine the oil, tamari, and vinegar in a small bowl; whisk until well combined. Pour the dressing over the snow peas. Just before serving decorate the salad with the sweet-pea flowers.
