Cleaning baked on food off of an oven rack can be a time-consuming task. Many people resort to toxic oven cleaners or ammonia to clean their racks. There is a more environmentally friendly alternative that I have found works just as well.

Place oven racks in bath tub or laundry tub. Added powdered of liquid dish washing detergent to the tub and fill with hot water until the racks are covered. Leave sit over night and the next day you will see the grease floating to the top of the water. Take a wash cloth and wipe down the racks. The grease should wipe right away.
